This chart was commissioned by The Count Basie Orchestra for Nnenna Freelon. It was premiered under my baton with Ms. Freelon at The Center for Jazz Composition's Gala Inaugural Performances at University of South Florida, Tampa and at The Palladium Theater in St. Petersburg, FL.
This chart is very playable for high school and college bands and runs about five and a half minutes.
